Asked all the time.
Answered honestly.

The stuff people want to know before they book an excavator — no run-around.

What areas do you cover?+
We’re based in Riverview, on Ipswich’s east side — so Ipswich is home turf. From there we service all of South East Queensland: Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay, Redland Bay, the Bayside and the Gold Coast. If you’re on the edge of that, call anyway — worst case we point you to someone good.
Can you quote from photos?+
Usually, yes. For straightforward jobs — post holes, trenches, small digs, driveways — a few phone photos and rough measurements are enough for a firm price. Trickier sites get a free walk-through with Beau so nothing gets missed.
What access do you need to get the machine in?+
The Kubota is a 3.3-tonne machine and tight access is our bread and butter. As a rule of thumb, a standard side gate opening is worth a conversation — send a photo of the gap with something for scale and we’ll tell you straight whether it fits.
Do you take the spoil away?+
Yes — the Isuzu tipper carts spoil off site, or we can spread and reuse it on your block if that suits the job better. Either way it’s priced up front, not sprung on you later.
Do you do the concrete too, or just the dig?+
The lot. Beau’s handles the cut, the prep, the boxing, the mesh, the pour and the finish — driveways, slabs, patios and exposed aggregate. One crew, one quote, no gap between the digger leaving and the concreter arriving.
Are you insured?+
Yes — Beau’s Excavations Pty Ltd is fully insured, and documentation is available on request for builders and body corporates.
What about underground services?+
No bucket goes in blind. Services get located and a Before You Dig (BYDA) check is done before we break ground, especially for trenching and deeper cuts.
Do you do small jobs?+
For earthmoving, yes — post holes, tight-access digs and small cuts get the same care as a bulk earthworks job, and are often same-week. Standalone concreting or retaining is a bit different: we take those on as part of an earthworks package, or on their own at larger and commercial scale.
Do you do standalone concreting or retaining walls?+
Yes — as part of an earthworks package, or as standalone projects at larger and commercial scale. If the digger’s already doing your cut, the slab and the wall are the easy add-ons and it’s all one quote. For a small one-off garden wall on its own, we’re usually not the right fit — and we’ll tell you straight rather than waste your time.
What happens if it rains?+
SEQ weather does what it does. If rain makes your site unsafe or would wreck the finish, we reschedule and you’re told early — a slab poured in the wet helps nobody.
How do quotes and payment work?+
Quotes are free and fixed wherever the scope allows. You approve the price, we book the date, and you’re invoiced on completion — larger multi-stage jobs get milestones agreed up front so there are no surprises.
